I'm a huge fan of strategy RPGs like Fire Emblem and Disgaea stuff in that vein and things like Etrian Odyssey infact Etrian Odyssey 4 or a new Animal Crossing are about the only things that will convince me to buy a 3DS. For you guys stick what what you do best shooters I mean a shooter with 3D should be pretty special I can already picture Dementium 3 in 3D lights out headphones in... *shivers*
Dementium 3, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories 2, Baten Kaitos, Point'n Click games (DotT), Final Fantasy Tactics and many many more
i want to see something impactful, maybe even avant garde; like Flower. an emotional experience as much as an entertaining one.
Something like Dino Crisis 2.Fast-paced dinosaur blasting in 3D would rock!
I definitely agree with ai. A moving game maybe in the realm of Indigo Prophecy would be interesting to see how it translates into 3D. Or Something survival and stressful. Then again I could really go for a good randomized dungeon-crawler in which I could pick up a Sword of Amazing Awesomeness. But the Horror, ammo hording, gamer in me really wants to see a port of Doom1 ( though possible is very unlikely ) as I along with, I believe, everyone who has played Doom has tried to dodge an Imp's fireball by moving their head one way or the other thinking it was about to come out of the screen. And as long as we're wishing for things, I would love to see a port or revamp or addition to Eternal Darkness ( My favorite game :D ) and I think 3D would add a whole new layer of psychological damage to sanity effects. And, of course, everyone here would love to see Dementium IIID. 3D could add more depth to William, the monsters, and hopefully a few surprises.
I've been playing a lot of Titan Quest (think Diablo, Torchlight) with my friends again lately and I think this is the kind of game that would work really well on a handheld like the 3ds. Having two screens would allow the inventory and quest log and such things to be open while playing and also much easier to sort and equip things with the stylus. If you look at Titan Quest, it has a lot of cliffs and chasms and such, bridges over them of course and all that would make for interesting 3d visuals I'm sure. The ragdoll system always puts a smile on my face when you send an enemy flying or down a cliff. With the 3d it would be even nicer, to have enemies coming towards you or slowly vanish down that crack in the earth.Add a solid co-op/online mechanic to it with item trading and maybe (free) DLC possibilities to that and you would have a winner on your hands for sure.If I had gotten around to found my own little studio, I'd be sure to start working on this if I could. Maybe THQ might even be interested to revive the Titan Quest brand for that. Since Iron Lore the original developer of that isn't around anymore, another dev might have a shot at it. Done right there is no way it wouldn't sell.
SHOOTERS! With the good visuals and 3D effects, as well as the nifty slide pad and touch screen, I think shooters would work perfectly with the 3DS. I always liked using the DS' touch screen for shooters/aiming over all other mediums (keyboard/mouse coming in second), and would love to see some shooter love for the portable. I would love to see the current shooter fad transfer over to the portable side of the river!
A game who's pure purpose is to use every feature of the 3DS and tie it together under an epic story. Preferably an R.P.G.Think "The World Ends With You."
RPG Fighting game.A Survival Horror game where you have no weapons (Cat and mouse type)Point and click horror game.Fighting game with a twist.(take a look at Fighter destiny 64 to see what I mean)
I think what the DS and indeed portable scene is missing and what would be actually doable on this new piece of hardware is an FPS/RPG. I'm talking Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Bioshock, Fallout style game. You guys are actually in a reasonable position to do this as you already have the FPS tech and the background in storytelling. So something like a 10 hour action RPG would be something I think would be in your grasp. Kind of like a scaled down Bioshock. With the new 3D environment this would add to the horror I think and would be something really different.
Heelo from a fan in Greece! I would love to see Renegade Kid do a ''3D'' 3D platformer (i mean stereoscopic 3d platforming) in the vein of SM Sunshine, SMG or Jett Rocket. Other than that a FPS in the vein of Dementium... OR why not a shooter like MoH/CoD... with a butter smooth 60fps RK engine, no doubt!
Dementium 3DS!! *__*
I'd really like to see a good action adventure rpg. Something along the lines of fable (something with swords, bows, possibly early guns, orcs, trolls, etc.) except more action oriented and a more in depth leveling up system.
Hello Jools,My name is Trey Sharp. I am a professional 3D Environment artist and I am interested in working at Renegade Kid. I am sorry for contacting you here, but the only link to any kind of contact was to you here on your blog. Your site does make mention that you are not currently hiring, but I am hoping that maybe you don't realize that you need an environment artist, but will soon. You guys have made some great games and I would love to be a part of your team. Please view my portfolio and resume here:www.sharp3d.netI also just completed a 3D "endurance" test, modeling, texturing, lighting and rendering all in 2 consecutive days.www.sharp3d.net/dpv.htmlThanks for your time. Hope to hear from you or someone soon.-Trey
I'd love to see a Silent Hill game on the 3DS. Along with Dementium 3DS.
I would like to see a 3D game maker or a modeler were you could animate and make video games with the 3ds and you can send then to 3ds to 3ds it would be awesome you could use basic code blocks and people could texture and program there home made games! you could also add your own textures by connecting your ds to the computer and downloading the textures and you could add sound fx. and you could add shading effects like cartoon and slow motion blur to make it look more realistic and you could control every bit of the game no restriction and you could make a multi player function so people could make like a fps game and play with there friends and you could use the 3ds cameras to make some what 3d images for back rounds that would BE AWESOME!!!!!!!
What seems to be missing so far is a nice racing game, with open city and everything, a game like NFS Most Wanted/Undercover. Maybe that would not really fit on the 3DS, but it IS missing. And I agree to the other commenters: FPS. Renegade Kid for me stands for incredible Singleplayer FPS experience, and I think a First person Shooter displayed in real 3D would really be something many players would love. You guys should get yourselves a piece from the 3DS pie, until it's too late and there are only bits left.. You deserve it.Noir [Germany]
As far as I know there haven't been any 1st person shooters announced for 3DS. Seeing as how Renegade has a good track record with that, I'm thinking you should start on one right away. You should try to make one that appeals to hardcore and casual gamers. Something Tim Burton-esque similar to the style of Max and the Mutant Muds. You guys need to start looking at making side-scrolling games. I'm a child of Sega Genesis and there's a big surge in that right now with Mega Man 10, Sonic 4, Contra & Castlevania Re-Birth, even new IPs like Shadow Complex. Sidescrolling games have even come out for Wii: Muramasa, A Boy and his Blob, New Super Mario Bros., and Batman Brave and Bold. With Renegade's creativity you could whip up a wicked awesome 3D side-scroller
The good news is 3DS will probly be the highest selling console ever. Bad news is it's probably going to have the most games published for any console ever. The 3DS already has games announced ranging from Mario Kart to Metal Gear Solid, Zelda to Ninja Gaiden, and Pac-Man to Batman. To make a game stand out in that market it's either going to need a really good license or really unique gameplay.I'll throw this out there...why would Telltale games, a major game designer, announce Jurassic Park and Back to the Future as their big new IPs? JP hasn't been relevant in 10 yrs. and B 2 the F not for 20 yrs. Most early high school and young kids wouldn't even know those. Those are geared towards 20-35 yrs. olds, I'd say the age range that makes up the majority of hardcore gamers. 3DS is going to pick up a huge number of hardcore gamers to go with the already decent sized core DS crowd. So you need to find a license that appeals to 20-35 yr. olds. I've got one that i'm guessing 90%+ of 20-35 yr. olds would know. An old show on Nickleodeon called "Are you afraid of the Dark". It's got a pretty twisted premise about a Midnight Society that tells scary tales. Design some kind of 1st person adventure around that get it to a "T" rating. You'd pick all those core gamers plus a lot of the younger crowd that thinks it looks cool. you could do that in episodes or dsiware. that was my was main idea for a license. for unique gameplay you should try a multi-mode game like Metroid Other M. An action game with 1st person, 3rd person, and side views.
DEMENTIUM 3 on the 3ds would be so awesome, just thinking about monsters jumping out at you makes me feel demented
A third-person shooter on the 3DS would be amazing.
If you guys could do something like Mass Effect, or even Fallout, than that would be awesome. So yea, Action-RPG/shooter.
